~birds of a feather...

A Chinese proverb says, "A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song."  I have been trying my hand at photographing local birds; not because I have an answer, but because they are truly wondrous creatures who add the beauty of both their plumage and their birdsong to our world!  They simply make my heart smile - even the crows & magpies, despite their boisterous behaviour!

~ 91 years of adventure seeking...

I am so lucky to have a large quiver full of aunts & uncles because both of my parents came from families of 10 children!  However, most of those extended family members moved away long before I came along.  The amazing thing is, though, that the family units on both sides were really great about organizing family reunions, so these large extended families got together fairly regularly through the years.  Of course, there were also road trips where my family traveled to visit the relatives, too!

I was born to a goodly mother.  She was a hard-working, spunky, see-the-good-in-all woman.
